Meets: Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m., open to grades 3 and up
Music is FUN! The purpose of Fortis Academy Choir is to create a vocal outlet for
children in an environment that teaches the fundamentals of music and
encourages individual expression through music. Students will learn basic music
theory, basic vocal techniques, and choir etiquette as time permits. We will also
experience the value of team work, preparation, and performance.
Rehearsals, Performances & Expectations:
Being part of a quality program includes consistent, individual practice time and
dedication to the rehearsal and performance schedules. Students are expected to
attend all rehearsals and performances. Performances are scheduled twice a
year- once in the fall and once in the spring.
A $20 per student recital fee is added to the student’s FACTS account, or payable by check on or before July 1st.
- Black 1 inch 3-ring binder
- Purchase copies of the current octavos (see Mrs. McIntosh)
Credit: Choir students receive credit each semester on their report cards for
having taken the class. The credit is issued by the teacher as a simple “pass” or
“fail” mark that is based on the student’s effort and attitude.
